The Cold-SnapOver the last few years, cold weather clothing has made tremendous advances with the technology and materials now available. Meaning the new garments are far warmer than anything you could have imagined just a short time ago. Vexilar has taken this a step further by implementing the best of the most modern materials and designing their Cold Snap suits specifically for the unique and demanding needs of today's hard-core ice fishermen. Just a few of the special considerations that will be immediately appreciated are waterproof and padded knees, plenty of pockets to accommodate most anything you could ever want, and extra long zippers in the legs to accommodate bulkier ice boots.
An important consideration when wearing suits as warm as the Cold Snaps are is to fully realize that you can become overly warm during periods of heavy exertion. Therefore, it is easy to work up a sweat and then live with the clammy consequences the rest of the day. When pulling out portables by hand, boring holes, etc., unless it is bitterly cold or windy; it may be best to forgo wearing your parka. I have even found that I rarely wear the parka unless the conditions are extreme as the bibs, a good vest, and a sweatshirt is often all that is needed. But, the Parka gives you the ability to withstand most anything Mother Nature can dish out and let's you be comfortable in the nastiest of conditions. Thus, providing you the ultimate in flexibility no matter what the weather is and allowing you to concentrate on catching fish, not staying warm.
