P-160 Carrying Case Assembly Instructions
Locate the handle and the base assembly. Locate the handle assembly slots which are in the middle of the base assembly. With the SNAP LOCKS on the handle facing the sonar unit pedestal, align each side of the handle with the handle assembly slots, slowly press the handle down into the slots until the handle locks. THIS ASSEMBLY IS NOT MADE TO BE TAKEN APART ONCE THE HANDLE ASSEMBLY IS LOCKED INTO THE BASE.
- Mount the sonar gimbal bracket to the unit pedestal. Line up the holes in your bracket with the mounting slots on each end of the pedestal. Use the four plastic fasteners to secure it into place.
- Set the battery into the battery compartment section. Push the battery to the inside of this compartment - toward the handle. Place the foam insert next to the battery. With a standard size lead acid or gel cell battery the foam will give a snug fit and keep the battery from moving around. The area behind will be left open and can be used for storage.
- Attach your unit to the gimbal bracket and set the Ice Ducer into the hole in the foam insert. Do not push the transducer so far into the hole that it contacts the base as this will cause scratching of the transducer face. Connect the unit to the battery and the Ice-Ducer to the unit. Wrap excess cable around the unit pedestal and secure in place with cable ties if necessary.
- OPTIONAL If you do not want to use the float provided with the Ice-Ducer you can use the supplied transducer support instead. This piece slides into the vertical slots on either side of the base assembly. It can be installed many different ways to fit your required position best. To support the transducer simple pass the cord through the opening in the hole and lower the transducer letting the stop rest in the hole. Try to keep the transducer away from the side of the ice hole as this can effect the cone angle.
- OPTIONAL If you want to mount our Battery Status Indicator to your case, there are predrilled holes and fasteners provided. With the unit facing you, locate the three holes on the right side of the handle, the two smaller holes are for mounting the indicator and the larger hole between is for passing the wires through to the battery. Do not leave the indicator connected to the battery for storage.
